S. America continued!

Today we finished our presentations. Your learners did excellent work, and we all learned some very interesting things! Today we learned about the Falkan Islands, Panama, and Chile.

S. America projects

2V students did a fabulous job presenting information about their chosen countries. We learned some very interesting, and sometimes surprising facts, about their country. Today we learned about Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, and Columbia. We look forward to the remaining presentations tomorrow!

Fiesta!

The kids had the blast yesterday! We ate tacos (lots!), played musical chairs, piñata, bubbles, and ate ice cream. Thank you to Sohan and his family, and the McBrien’s, for a fun and memorable afternoon!

Sports Day

Mr. And Mrs. Bowman came for a visit this morning, and shared photos and stories about their time living in Japan. We got to try sweet Japanese curry! What a treat!

Friendly letters

Today we talked about all the forms of communication- email, texts, postcards, and all the various social media outlets. Then we learned how to write a “friendly letter” and wrote our friends in 2M. We look forward to their responses! Ask your child to write someone a letter, using all of the parts ( date, greeting, body, closing).

Student Led Conferences

Thank you for attending your child’s student led conference. It was wonderful to hear your learners reflect on their learning, successes, and challenges, during 2nd grade. Great work 2V!

S. America projects

This morning, 2V kids were busy deciding on their countries, looking up information, and collaborating with others. Ask your learner what they found out about their country so far!

Chertsey museum field trip

We had a fabulous field trip today! We learned about Ancient Greece, while listening to history and facts, exploring artifacts, and creating artistic replicas. We had fun creating and performing skits, with Greek tragedy and comedy themes. Big thanks to Mr. Gilder, for coming and being a huge help today. The kids were great learners and really enjoyed the day!
